WWE No Way Out 2001
Wrestlemania 17 may go down as the biggest, most lucrative Pay-Per-View in 2001, but as far as quality goes, many wrestling fans will tell you it was No Way Out, a mere month before Wrestlemania, that showcased the best wrestling of the year. Rarely can a three-hour Pay-Per-View hold your attention throughout, without any down time, but the action-packed NWO does just that. WWF’s writers worked up enough soap opera drama to make each of these matches interesting. Whether it’s the ultimate cat fight for “female domination” in the WWF, between Stephanie and Trish Stratus, the Rock trying to regain the WWF Championship from a whiny Kurt Angle, or Jerry “the King” Lawler fighting for the Right for Nudity against Steven Richards, NWO never lets up.
The culmination of a great evening is the brutal, exhausting, nearly 40-minute battle between Stone Cold Steve Austin and “the Game” Triple H. The men have generated the sickest feud in federation history, and it all comes to a head in a two-out-of-three-falls match. The first fall is a typical one-on-one match; the second is an anything-goes street fight match; and the third takes place in a steel cage. In what should go down as one of the nastiest, liveliest matches in history, both men give the fans everything they have. In a rarity, so does the WWF with this PPV. –Dave McCoy
Customer Review: No Way Out 2001 is a 4 star ppv
80-76%-perfect
75-71%-awsome

65-61%-poor
60-56%-awful
1. The Big Show vs. Raven for the hardcore title- This was a good way to kick off the show. I think they should have made the match last a little longer. I think they did a good job with the six minutes they were given and made this non stop action. There were about 5 title changes in 6 minutes. Winner and new wwe hardcore champ the big show. Match Rating 6/10.
2. Y2J vs. Chris Beniot vs. X-Pac vs. Eddie Guerrero- This was a surprise of the night and was up there for match of the night as well. This was non stop action and all of these guys have talent. I think the wwe needs to have one of these every once and awhile and they cant just rely on the main event and they showed it here. Winner Y2J. Match rating 8.5/10.
3. Trish vs. Stephine McMahon- This was another surprise of the night. This was alot better wrestling wise and it told a good story. I was going to get up and use a bathroom break for this one but when it started it was physical and i appulaed the wwe for the work that went on here. Winner Stephine McMahon. Match Rating 6/10.
4. HHH vs. Stone Cold 2 out of 3 falls
1st fall one on one- This fall was rather boring. It had alot to do with hhh working on austins leg and it just wasted to much tim. I think they had the right mind set with it starting out physical but got real boring. Winner of the first fall stone cold. Match Rating 7/10.
2nd fall street fight- this was alot better than the first fall and i was expecting it to be. It started out right away with chairs ring bells barbwire you name it they had it. This one was more back and forth than the first fall. Some nice spots including a back drop through the table. I liked the pace of this match i knew who was going to win the match but it was so exciting and the best out of all falls. Winner HHH. Match Rating 9/10.
3ed fall steel cage- This was better than the first fall but not as good as the 2nd fall. It was about 10 minutes long and i wish i they would have made it a little longer but i understand why they did not. One thing i liked about this cage match that was different than the other ones was because of the street fight they left all the weapons in the ring and it was a little more interesting. Winner HHH. Match Rating 7.5/10.
5. The King vs. Steven Richards- I dont know if u can get much worse than this. I think u can but this match was preatty bad. First off neither of these guys can wrestle and maybe the king could back in the day but there is no chance in hell he can do it this year. Any way horriable match and should have not been on the card. Winner Steven Richards. Match Rtaing 2/10.
6. Kane and the undertaker vs. The dudleys vs. Edge and christian in a tables match for the tag team titles- This was another good match on the card. Of course the table stipulation helped the match alot. There were some nice chair shots in this match and the match started out nice with devon getting throughn off the stage. I wish this would have been a few minutes longer but still good and kind of a bad ending. Winners and still wwe tag team champs The dudley boys. match Rating 8/10.
7. Kurt Angle vs. The rock for the wwe title- this was an awsome way to close off the ppv. I think these men out alot into this match with the 15 minutes they were given even though they sohould have been given more. This was non stop all the way through. The match really picked up when the big show interferred. I was into this match also because of all the near falls and excitment. U will not want to sit down for this match and a good last match as wwe champ for kurt angle. Winner and new wwe champ The rock. Match Rating 9.5/10.
Well that raps up another. I would give no way out a grade of 63.5/90 which is a 70.5% which this means it is anawsome ppv. I think that is a soild rating. I think the one thing that brought this whole rating down was hte kings match but every thing else is at least worth one watch. If you can tell me if my reviwe was helpful or not i would appericate that. thanks for your time. More Info
